What is Katana?
The Yield Generation Layer for Solana

Katana is building the yield generation layer for Solana. The Katana protocol offers a suite of packaged yield products across the risk spectrum, enabling users to passively access the best risk-adjusted yields in the ecosystem.
By packaging complex strategies into vaults, Katana enables anyone to simply deposit into their desired vault and begin earning its yield--all without any active management. Importantly, Katana's yields are not dependent on liquidity mining programs but price action, thereby offering a diversified and more sustainable source of yield.
Katana vaults have the following benefits:
  • Simplified access to complex strategies
  • Full automation
  • Automatic rollovers
  • Weekly compounding
  • Algorithmic strike selection
  • Optimized strategy execution
Katana won the Grand Prize at the Solana Ignition hackathon and launched on mainnet in December. The protocol exists as a set of smart contracts on the Solana blockchain, providing an automated, permissionless, and non-custodial experience.

Who is Katana for?

Simply put, Katana caters to anyone looking to generate yield on their crypto assets, including but not limited to:
  • Retail users
  • DAO Treasuries
  • DeFi protocols
  • Institutions
  • FinTech Applications
As a base primitive, anyone can choose to build their own products, protocols, or experiences on top of the core Katana protocol. In the future, Katana will implement governance processes by which anyone can submit strategies and products directly to the protocol itself.
